• Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra has been appointed as the first-ever Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya. He was selected from a massive pool of 5,585 applicants through a multi-stage screening process overseen by a high-powered search committee headed by retired Justice Permod Kohli. A decorated veteran who retired in April 2026 after nearly four decades of service, Mishra previously served as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command and was awarded the Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal for his leadership during Operation Sindoor.
• The Japan Credit Rating Agency (JCR) upgraded India’s long-term foreign and local currency issuer ratings by one notch from ‘BBB+’ to ‘A-’, assigning a Stable outlook. The upgrade is anchored by India’s robust real GDP growth, structural reforms like GST and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), improved fiscal expenditure quality, and a significantly healthier banking sector. • The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports declared the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards (TNNAA) 2024, honoring four individuals for outstanding achievements in outdoor adventure. • Researchers from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Advanced Centre of Research in High Energy Materials (ACRHEM) at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) have secured a patent for BAM-H24. Formally designated as N¹, N¹, N¹, N⁴, N⁴, N⁴ -hexaethylbut-2-yne-1,4-diaminiumdodecaborane, BAM-H24 is an advanced boron-, hydrogen-, and nitrogen-rich energetic compound. The compound is designed to serve as a high-efficiency solid rocket propellant fuel, fuel additive, or burn-rate accelerator, delivering superior specific impulse and low ignition delay while maintaining strong thermal stability and non-hygroscopic properties.
• Argentina legend Lionel Messi has officially announced his retirement from international football, bringing the curtain down on a historic 21-year career with the Albiceleste.
