If you have cleared the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET), many congratulations to you! Now, you need your PSTET Certificate and mark sheet to apply for teaching jobs or for other official work.
You do not need to run around to get the physical paper copy. You can easily download your PSTET certificate and mark sheet online using the DigiLocker app. I know sometimes online processes look a bit confusing, but please do not take any tension. I am going to explain every single step in full detail so that you can do it easily from your home.
Here is the complete and detailed guide for you.
Step 1: How to Open the DigiLocker App for Your PSTET Certificate
First things first, you need the DigiLocker app. If you have a smartphone, go to the Play Store (for Android) or App Store (for iPhone). Search for “DigiLocker” and download the official app. It has a blue icon with a lock symbol.
If you are sitting on a computer or laptop, you do not need the app. Just open your web browser and go to the official DigiLocker website (digilocker.gov.in). Make sure your mobile phone has a good internet connection before you start, so the page loads quickly without any errors.
Step 2: How to Log In to DigiLocker for Your PSTET Certificate
Once the app or website is open, you need to log in. Keep your Aadhaar card handy because you will need it.
Click on the “Sign In” button. You can log in using your mobile number. The system will send a One Time Password (OTP) to your phone. Enter that OTP to log in.
If you are using DigiLocker for the very first time, you will see a “Sign Up” option. Click on that. You will need to enter your Aadhaar number. An OTP will come to the mobile number that is linked to your Aadhaar card. Enter the OTP, set a simple 6-digit PIN for your account, and your account will be ready.
Step 3: How to Search for the PSTET Certificate in DigiLocker
Now that you are inside your DigiLocker account, look at the main home screen. You will see your basic documents like Aadhaar already there. But your teaching PSTET Certificate will not be there by default.
To find it, look for a button that says “Search” or “Get More Documents”. It is usually at the bottom of the screen on the mobile app, or on the left side menu on the website. Click on it. A search bar will open up. This is where we will type the name of the department to find your PSTET certificate.
Step 4: How to Select the Right Punjab Board for Your PSTET Certificate
In the search bar, you need to type the name of the education board that conducts the test. Type “SCERT Punjab” (which stands for State Council of Educational Research and Training) or simply type “Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test”.
When you type this, a list will drop down. You must carefully read the names and select the exact one that says it issues the PSTET certificate. Sometimes there are many options in the list, so take your time and click on the correct Punjab education authority. If you select the wrong board, your certificate will not show up.
Step 5: How to Fill in Your PSTET Exam Details Correctly
After you select the correct board, a new form will open on your screen. The system needs to know exactly which student you are, so it will ask for your exam details. Please fill this form very carefully, matching the details exactly as they are on your admit card.
- Roll Number / Registration Number: Type the exact roll number you used in the exam.
- Aadhaar Number: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
- Date of Birth: Select your correct date of birth from the calendar. Make sure the day, month, and year are perfectly correct.
- Year / Session: Select the year you gave the exam (for example, 2023 or 2024).
- Paper Selection: The exam has two papers. You must select Paper 1 (for classes 1 to 5) or Paper 2 (for classes 6 to 8), whichever you actually appeared for and cleared.
Double-check everything before moving to the next step. Even a small spelling mistake in the name or a wrong digit in the roll number can cause an error.
Step 6: How to Download and Save Your PSTET Certificate
Once you have filled in all the details correctly, click on the “Get Document” or “Fetch Details” button at the bottom of the page.
Give it a few seconds. If all your details are correct, your PSTET certificate and mark sheet will appear on the screen! It will show your name, photo, marks, and the qualifying status.
Now, click on the “Download” button. The file will save as a PDF on your phone or computer. I suggest you create a special folder on your phone named “PSTET Documents” and save this PDF there so you never lose it. If you need a hard copy for a job interview, you can easily take a color printout of this PDF from any local shop.
A Very Important Note for You
Many students ask, “Will the schools accept this digital PDF copy, or do they need the original physical paper?”
Please remember, under the Information Technology Act of India, this digital certificate on DigiLocker is 100% legally valid. It has the exact same value as the original physical paper certificate. You can show this digital copy to any school principal or government office for your job application. Nobody can reject it.
Keep this guide saved, follow the steps slowly, and you will have your PSTET certificate in your hands in just a few minutes. Best of luck for your teaching career!
Now that you have successfully downloaded your PSTET certificate, your next big goal is to prepare for upcoming teaching exams or interviews.
