Undeterred, Bhai Lakhi Shah, along with his son Nagahiya, drove a convoy of heavy bullock carts filled with cotton through the guarded area during a dusty storm and successfully smuggled the Guru’s headless body away. To ensure a dignified cremation, Bhai Lakhi Shah placed the sacred remains inside his own home and then set fire to the entire house, making it appear accidental, while in truth performing the final rites with the utmost reverence.
