- Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) and International Resources Holding (IRH), the Abu Dhabi‑based natural resources investment platform through 2pointzero, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Odisha government to develop an $11.5 billion integrated greenfield aluminium project in the state of Odisha.
- The Punjab government will introduce the Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum as part of school education from next month, and along with this, four new AI universities will be established in the state.
- Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh’s film Punjab 95 will be released under the new title Satluj after a delay of three years. The movie is based on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who investigated the cremation of thousands of unidentified bodies in Punjab during the ten‑year period from 1984 to 1995.
- The Government of Maharashtra has announced a ban on the sale of the energy drink Sting within a 500‑metre radius of schools in the state, after concerns were raised over certain ingredients in the beverage.
- A two‑day event titled Mango Festival India Showcase has been organised by the Consulate General of India in Houston to promote Indian mangoes and other premium agricultural products in mainstream Texas retail channels.
- Egypt has recently announced two major archaeological discoveries: a well‑preserved Byzantine‑era residential city at the Dakhla Oasis in the Western Desert, and a series of Greco‑Roman tombs at Marina el‑Alamein near Alexandria. - Hyderabad‑based company Skyroot Aerospace, is set to launch its maiden mission named Mission Aagaman (“The Arrival”) for commercial customers worldwide.
- The Government of India has appointed Lokhande Prashant Sitaram as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs under Minister Amit Shah.
- Mukesh Ambani and Sunil Mittal have joined the AI for Good Global Commission to promote responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI). Along with them, two other leaders from India — Lakshmi N. Mittal and Vishal Talwar — are among the 40 global representatives from governments, business, academia, and international organisations. The commission is led by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Salesforce.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the country’s first greenfield integrated refinery‑cum‑petrochemical complex, a new semiconductor packaging plant, metro rail expansion projects, and renewable energy initiatives in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
- The Government of Uttar Pradesh has rolled out the UP Rashtriya Parivarik Labh Yojana, which provides financial assistance of ₹30,000 as a one‑time payment to families who have lost their sole earning member.
- Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has unveiled India’s first export‑import shipping container manufactured in the country, built for the global shipping company Maersk, at an event held in Dabri, Uttar Pradesh.
- The Indian Navy participated in the multinational naval exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2026, held at Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam under the United States Pacific Fleet. The Indian Navy took part with its P‑8I maritime patrol aircraft.
- The Global Biofuels Alliance has selected its first 15 Global Biofuel Champions Fellows at a ceremony held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. These 15 fellows were chosen from applicants representing 32 countries, after undergoing a competitive selection process. The Global Biofuels Alliance is an international coalition dedicated to promoting the production, adoption, and sustainable use of biofuels worldwide. The alliance was launched during the G20 Summit in New Delhi in 2023.
- West Bengal’s three products — Chandannagar’s Jalbhara Sandesh, Janai’s Manohara, and Balagarh’s traditional wooden boats — have received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag from the Government of India.
- In Himachal Pradesh, eight products have received Geographical Indication (GI) registration. These are: Spiti Seabuckthorn (Chharma), Salooni Safed Makka (White Maize), Chamba Metal Art, Sirmauri Loiya (traditional woollen garment), Kinnauri Topi, Sepuvadi of Mandi, Kinnauri Apple, and Kinnauri Jewellery.
- Assam has become the first state in India to commercially produce Matcha tea at the Chota Tingrai Tea Estate in Tinsukia district, with sales taking place through the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre. Traditionally, Assam is known for its premium black tea, but Matcha is a finely powdered green tea that originated in Japan and is renowned for its distinctive preparation method, vibrant green colour, and health benefits.
- ACME Group has signed a $1‑billion agreement with Japan’s Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC) to supply 100,000 tonnes of green methanol annually from its upcoming production facility in Paradip, Odisha.
