- The Government of India has extended the anti‑dumping duty on seamless tubes, pipes, and hollow profiles of iron, alloy, or non‑alloy steel imported from China until 27 January 2027. Anti‑dumping duty is a trade remedy imposed when imported goods are sold at prices lower than their normal value in the exporting country, a practice known as dumping.
- The Delhi Government has made the Pink Saheli Smart Card mandatory for free bus travel from 1 August 2026, substituting the current paper‑based system of pink tickets. The Pink Saheli Smart Card is a digital smart card issued to eligible women passengers, who can tap it on the card reader while boarding the bus to avail the benefits of free travel.
- The Government of India, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has exempted eligible units operating in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), GIFT City, Gandhinagar, from the licensing requirement under Section 11 of the Coastal Shipping Act, 2025.
- The Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched the Udyam Nidhi Yojana 2026, a women’s entrepreneurship assistance program aimed at providing affordable credit facilities to women who wish to start or develop small or micro ventures.
- In another breakthrough, India has crossed the milestone of creating more than 93.95 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

- A rare rediscovery of Himachal Pradesh’s fern, Dryopteris conjugata, has been made in the forest area of Kasol. It was first documented in 1870 by Colonel Charles Ellison Bates in the Shimla Hills. This fern species is also found in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, and is scattered across China, Nepal, and Tibet.
