  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Indonesia’s highest civilian award, the Bintang Adipurna, during his visit to Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. The award is an honour bestowed upon individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to strengthening ties with Indonesia and promoting international cooperation.
  • China has achieved a new development in its military capabilities with the successful conduct of a Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) test in the South Pacific. The missile, equipped with a dummy (non-nuclear) warhead, was fired from one of China’s nuclear-powered submarines.
  • The Government of Uttar Pradesh has approved a Startup Policy with a ₹1,000‑crore startup fund. The policy offers financial assistance, incubator support, prototype grants, cloud service reimbursements, and special incentives for deep‑tech startups.
  • In another milestone for the Indian defence sector, Indonesia has decided to import the Astra Beyond‑Visual Range Air‑to‑Air Missile (BVRAAM) following bilateral talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. In addition, Indonesia also agreed to procure BrahMos missile supplies, extend support for Indonesia‑specific Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), and collaborate on the joint development of Sabang Port.
  • Arunachal Pradesh has launched emergency helicopter relief operations to deliver food, medical supplies, and essential aid to flood‑affected villages in the Lower Siang district.
  • Gujarat has become the first state in the country to develop its first two air‑filled rubber dams, constructed with advanced technology from South Korea. These dams have been set up on the Heran River in Chhota Udepur district and the Ambika River in Tapi district. Inflatable rubber dams are hydraulic structures made of tough rubber, placed across rivers or canals to store additional water.
  • Adani Defence and Aerospace has launched a ₹2,400‑crore missile manufacturing plant in Pali, Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. This facility is South Asia’s largest private‑sector missile manufacturing ecosystem and will produce critical components for medium‑ and long‑range missile systems.
  • According to the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) 2025‑26 report on School Education in India, released by the Ministry of Education, the dropout rate at the preparatory level (Classes III to V) declined from 2.3% in 2024‑25 to 1.8% in 2025‑26.   • The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) has added 9,909 soldiers from undivided Punjab, who were previously omitted from commemoration records, recognizing them as casualties of the First World War.
  • The Government of India has appointed new heads for three important police institutions. Alok Kumar Mittal, IPS, has been appointed as Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D). Amit Garg, IPS, has been appointed as Director General of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). Sujeet Pandey, IPS, has been appointed as Director of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad.
  • India has been ranked 6th in the Global Air Powers Ranking 2026 released by the World Directory of Modern Military Aircraft (WDMMA). The United States dominates the top five positions, with the Indian Air Force placed ahead of China, Japan, Israel, and France.
  • Mizoram University’s Natural History Museum has become India’s 21st Designated Repository under the Biological Diversity Act, as notified by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
