ਕੁਝ fixed expressions ਅਤੇ ਆਮ phrases ਵਿੱਚ The ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ phrases ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨੇ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ The ਇੱਕ fixed part ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ Proper Noun ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕੋਈ Countable Noun ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦਾ profession (ਪੇਸ਼ਾ/ਕਿਰਤ) ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ Countable Noun ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ The ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
