- India has launched Air Suvidha 2.0, a fully digital and contactless passenger health declaration platform for international travelers.
- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has opened 300 Toshakhana gifts for public e‑auction under the revised Toshakhana Rules, 2024. Toshakhana is the official system of the Government of India for the receipt, valuation, storage, and disposal of gifts presented to public officials during official meetings, foreign visits, and diplomatic events. The term “Toshakhana” originates from Persian, where Tosh means treasure or valuables and khana means house or repository.
- Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has authored the book The Second Orbit: Belief of a Man… Dreams of 1.4 Billion Hearts on the first anniversary of the Axiom‑4 mission, observed on 25 June. His mission to the International Space Station was part of the Axiom‑4 mission. The book was released by Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh.
- India has shipped emergency aid to Venezuela, which was shaken by two earthquakes in the northern region, including portable hospitals, doctors, equipment, and supplies under the operation name Op Amistad. “Amistad” is a Spanish word — as Venezuela is a Spanish‑speaking country — meaning friendship.
- The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has revised its Class IX Social Science textbook, dropping the chapters on the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution, and the rise of Nizam, while introducing content on ancient civilizations, early human history, and Indian knowledge systems.
- The Government of Punjab has set up the first‑of‑its‑kind bio‑fertiliser quality control laboratory in Bathinda, which was inaugurated by Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian. This laboratory can test at least 1,000 samples per year.
- Uber India President Prabhjeet Singh has resigned from his post. He was also serving as the President of South Asia.
- Japan’s first woman Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, will undertake her first official visit to India from July 1 to July 3 for the 16th India–Japan Annual Summit.
- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched the Soorma campaign for the transformation of drug victims into ambassadors of hope, who will lead the fight against addiction at the grassroots level, with the government’s promise of jobs.
- The Punjab School Education Department has announced the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and cyber safety education in 425 state government schools as a pilot project under the mission named RAFTAAR (Robotics and AI Framework for Teachers’ Advanced and Academia Readiness).
