  • The Indian Army has introduced a new manual for uniforms to be worn by all its personnel. These uniforms are fully aligned with Indian weather conditions, and different uniforms will be worn for separate activities such as ceremonial functions, combat, mess, hot climates, and high altitudes.
  • The Delhi government has exempted road tax and registration fees for electric cars priced up to ₹30 lakhs under the new EV policy. Another change is that only two-wheelers will be registered from April 1, 2028, and only e-autorickshaws will be registered from January 1, 2027.
  • The governments of Haryana and Rajasthan have signed an agreement on sharing Yamuna water, which will be supplied for drinking purposes to the regions of Sikar, Churu, and Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, and Bhiwani and Fatehabad in Haryana.
  • PFC and REC have received approval from their respective boards for a merger scheme, which will create a lender with assets worth ₹11 lakh crore.
  • Smriti Mandhana has now become the brand ambassador of Candere, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, as Candere aims to attract young customers.
  • Easy Connect, launched by Air India, will provide connecting flights to Amritsar among the upcoming cities.

  • Kidambi Srikanth ended his campaign in the US Open Super 300 badminton tournament with a runner-up finish after losing to Chinese Taipei’s Su Li-yang in the men’s singles final.
  • Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth has now become the 31st Chief of Army Staff after the superannuation of the incumbent General Upendra Dwivedi. Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth comes from the Armoured Corps.
  • President Droupadi Murmu has conferred prestigious military decorations for distinguished services of exceptional order to Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth (current Army Chief), Admiral Krishan Swaminathan (current Navy Chief), Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, and Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti for their roles in Operation Sindoor last year.
  • India has commissioned ICGS Akshay, a new-generation Fast Patrol Vessel, to strengthen maritime security under the Bharatiya Tatrakshak (Indian Coast Guard).
  • The PM Family Care Tracker (PM-FCT) has been launched in Gujarat as an integrated digital welfare platform that creates a single record of eligible beneficiaries by combining data from multiple departments, along with a health passport, as a pilot project in Gandhinagar. This integrated digital platform is designed to monitor the health, nutrition, education, and overall well-being of children from pregnancy until the age of 16 years.
  • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully conducted a hot test of the Semi-Cryogenic Engine Power Head Test Article (PHTA) at a thrust level of 175 tonnes, as part of the ongoing development of its indigenous semi-cryogenic propulsion system.
  • The Indian Army is set to raise its first Integrated Battle Groups (IBGs), which are brigade-sized, self-sufficient combat formations that combine multiple combat and support arms into a single operational unit. These IBGs will come under the Panagarh-based XVII Corps (Mountain Strike Corps), which has primary responsibility for operations along the India-China border.
  • The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare has released the Operational Guidelines for the Anaemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) Abhiyaan, a programme addressing the medical condition in which blood has lower-than-normal haemoglobin levels, reducing the body’s ability to carry oxygen efficiently. The new structure of the AMB Abhiyaan replaces the earlier Anaemia Mukt Bharat programme framework with a more comprehensive 777 strategy, expanded beneficiary coverage, enhanced digital monitoring, and improved treatment protocols.
  • OpenAI has appointed Prabhjeet Singh, former President of Uber India and South Asia, as the Managing Director for India. He will report to Kiran Mani, the Managing Director for Asia Pacific.
