• India has assumed the Vice‑Presidency of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) under the Mexican Presidency of Elisa de Anda Madrazo in Paris. Vivek Aggarwal has taken charge as the Vice‑President, succeeding the United Kingdom’s Giles Thomson. The FATF is the global body combating terror financing, with its headquarters located in France.
• The Government of India has approved an interest rate of 8.25 percent for the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The Finance Ministry sanctioned this rate, which was set by the Central Board of Trustees (CBT), the decision‑making body of the EPFO.
• Patiala resident Noor Singh has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the Chartered Accountant (CA) Final Examination 2026.
• The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has become the first Arab country to impose a ban on social media use for all children under the age of 15. The regulation prohibits children from creating accounts, posting content, commenting, sharing, or joining public groups on social media platforms.
