- India and Rwanda have expanded their defence partnership to strengthen strategic ties by enhancing bilateral defence cooperation during the 2nd Joint Defence Cooperation Committee meeting held in New Delhi.
- The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM‑B) will open its first overseas campus in Indonesia. The campus will be set up at the Singhasari Special Economic Zone in Malang, East Java.
- The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has changed its rules under EPFO 3.0, allowing about 34 crore subscribers to withdraw up to 75 percent of their Provident Fund (PF) from their EPFO accounts through ATMs.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Indonesia, visited the 9th‑century Prambanan Temple complex in Yogyakarta, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Prambanan Temple is the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia and the second‑largest in Southeast Asia after Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
- Under the Performance Grading Index for Districts (PGI‑D) 2025‑26, Barnala has emerged as the top performer among Punjab’s districts. At the state level, Punjab is placed in the second‑highest performer category, along with Delhi, Kerala, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli/Daman & Diu, ranking just behind Chandigarh, which is the top performer.
- The Punjab Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLLDSL) to integrate the state’s supply chain with the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP). The MoU was signed in the presence of Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Aman Arora and Jaspreet Singh, Director of NICDC.
- The Government of Punjab has launched a campaign for livestock immunisation, providing vaccination against Haemorrhagic Septicaemia to protect cattle and buffaloes during the monsoon season.
- Sandeep Rishi has now become the new Chief Administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), replacing Sandeep Kumar.
- Indian tennis star Leander Paes has been appointed by the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) as the Player Ambassador to inspire the next generation of players and accelerate the growth of the sport across the region.
- Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly has been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame during the global body’s annual conference in Edinburgh. This induction raises the number of Indians in the ICC Hall of Fame to 12, including Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Bishan Singh Bedi, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Vinoo Mankad, Diana Edulji, Virender Sehwag, Neetu David, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and now Sourav Ganguly.
- The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved vepdegestrant, marketed as Veppanu, the first PROTAC drug for the treatment of advanced breast cancer. It is indicated for adults with estrogen receptor‑positive (ER‑positive), HER2‑negative, ESR1‑mutated advanced or metastatic breast cancer whose disease has progressed after at least one line of endocrine therapy.
- Tripura has made it mandatory for all schools in the state to begin their daily academic routine with the full version of the National Song, Vande Mataram, followed by the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana.
- The Government of India has rolled out the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM‑SETU) Scheme with an investment of ₹60,000 crore. The scheme aims to modernise 1,000 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), establish five National Centres of Excellence, and promote industry‑led skill development to improve employability.
- Four states — Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra — have signed a payment agreement for the Narmada Project, addressing the long‑awaited issue of sharing the costs of the Sardar Sarovar and Indira Sagar projects.
- Tamil Nadu’s Kamarajar Port has become India’s second major port, after Visakhapatnam Port, to provide an 18‑metre operational draft — the maximum depth of water available for ships to enter, exit, and berth at a port — enabling the accommodation of larger cargo vessels.
- The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2025 under the Union Ministry of Culture for 2024‑25 has been announced by the Sangeet Natak Akademi for contributions to India’s performing arts, including music, dance, and theatre, and has been presented to Acharya Ranchhodlal Goswami. The award is named after the legendary shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan.
- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the flight test of the Pinaka Long‑Range Guided Rocket (LRGR) at its Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur. The Pinaka rocket was tested for a user‑defined minimum range of 60 km, followed its planned trajectory perfectly, and hit the target with high accuracy.
