  • Sena Samvad 2026 was held in New Delhi, where a seminar on India’s premier military‑citizen dialogue took place.
  • Punjab has seen an improvement in the male‑to‑female ratio from 922 in 2024 to 924 in 2026, measured as the number of females per 1,000 males. The top performers are the Doaba districts, with Nawanshahr (SBS Nagar) recording 964 females per 1,000 males and Hoshiarpur 962 females per 1,000 males. However, 14 other districts witnessed a sharp decline, with Muktsar at 891 females per 1,000 males, followed by Mohali (SAS Nagar) at 893 females per 1,000 males.
  • Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced cash incentives for the birth of the third and fourth child, with ₹30,000 and ₹40,000 respectively, to reverse the state’s declining population trend.
  • The Netherlands returned the 11th‑century Chola‑era plates, also known as the Leiden Plates, to India. These Leiden Plates, or Chola Plates, had been taken by the Dutch and placed in Leiden University. They originally belonged to the Chola kings Rajendra Chola I and Kulotunga Chola I.
  • IIT Jammu signed an MoU with the Ladakh administration to set up a satellite campus in Leh.
  • Indian mangoes are now available to people in the United States, as the Indian Consulate General has facilitated the supply of several varieties to retail stores such as Costco in Seattle.
  • India’s first person to die through euthanasia, Harish Rana, had his corneas and heart valves donated by his parents to the needy. Harish Rana was on life support and was shifted to the palliative care unit after the Supreme Court verdict. He passed away on 24 March.
