- Punjab has topped the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 for States and Union Territories, sharing the first position with Chandigarh. The report was released by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Union Ministry of Education. In this, Punjab attained the Prachesta‑1 grade, outperforming Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh, which were placed in the Prachesta‑2 category.
- Gill Village in the Rampura Block of Bathinda district has received recognition for sustainable rural water management, with all 784 households having functional tap water connections for nearly four years. The village also earned appreciation during the Sujal Gram Samvad conference under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
- Dove Cousins has become the chief compound coach. This marks the first international coaching assignment in the 49‑year history of Indian compound archery, which will make its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles Games in 2028.
- Aston Villa defeated Freiburg 3–0 in Istanbul to win the Europa League title, their first in 30 years.
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Indian War Memorial in Seoul, South Korea.

- For the first time, an all‑women mountaineering expedition of the Border Security Force (BSF) scaled Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak. The mission, called Mission Vande Mataram, is part of the BSF’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The team included Constable Kouser Fatima from Ladakh, Constable Munmun Ghosh from West Bengal, Constable Rabeka Singh from Uttarakhand, and Constable Tsering Chorol from Kargil. BSF Director General Praveen Kumar congratulated the team for successfully scaling Mount Everest at 8,848.86 meters.
- Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha inaugurated a newly constructed helipad in Katra, which connects the Mata Vaishno Devi and Shiv Khori shrines.
